Le Potato is a high-performance single-board computer (SBC) that offers a range of computing capabilities while consuming minimal power. This bundle includes a specially designed anodized heatsink and a plug-and-play WiFi dongle, allowing you to maximize the performance of your board.
The anodized heatsink is designed to provide a protective oxide layer that resists environmental corrosion, while also offering superior thermal performance. By using this heatsink, you can significantly increase the sustained performance of your board and enhance its reliability by reducing temperature cycling. The heatsink is securely attached to the board using two push pin anchors, ensuring vibration resistance.
The plug-and-play USB WiFi dongle included in this bundle offers excellent performance and a wide range of features. It supports AP mode, ad-hoc mode, monitor mode, packet injection, and more. The dongle is fully integrated into the Linux kernel and is perfect for embedded applications that require low power consumption, minimal memory usage, and reliable software support.
Please note that in order to use this product, you will need additional peripherals. You will need a MicroSD card or eMMC flashed with the correct image, as well as a proper bootloader or image for HDMI video output. Once the bootloader is detected, the green LED will turn on. It is important to use a 5V 2A or higher MicroUSB power supply, as power supplies with insufficient power may cause voltage drops and result in instability, random application crashes, or boot issues. Le Potato is compatible with most USB-based peripherals, and the GPIO header maintains the same layout for hardware I2C, SPI, PWM, and UART compatibility. However, please note that I2S, PCM, and SDIO do not share the same pins, so you may need to reroute certain audio peripherals. Additionally, Le Potato features additional GPIOs and SARADC pins on separate headers.
Please be aware that software made for Raspberry Pi is not compatible with Le Potato out of the box. However, Libre Computer provides the libretech-raspbian-portability tool on GitHub, which allows you to convert existing Raspbian images to standard EFI images that can run on Libre Computer boards. Pre-converted Raspbian images are also available. Please note that non-standard software libraries for interfacing with hardware will need to be updated, as GPIO numbering may differ across different platforms.
